Character Profiles
One of the most important things I learned during my interviews thus far is that development of characters is very important to writing. A lot of the time writer's block grows from not knowing one's characters well enough, and I often find myself struggling with that problem. Because of it, I have developed a solution that I believe will best help me.
I have started making character profiles, pages that describe each one of my characters. One each page I list important information in an organized format, such as appearance, personality, and others. Each one of these pages helps me to better develop and understand my characters so that when I write, I can use it then. It has cleared up some of my writer's block, and has helped improve my prologue to where I want it to be.
Part of what I wrote about last week in my research assessment was the development of characters because they are ultimately what makes the story. I believe if I can continue making these profiles, I will be able to turn in incredible work that really dives into who each one is. That's what I intend to keep working on for the next few weeks until I believe I have my character profiles finished to a point where I believe I can produce my best work.
