Publication
This week I learned about how a book is published, and what seven steps it takes to get there on one's own. Those steps are editorial, design, production, distribution, marketing, promotion, and selective rights licensing. This process is commenced right after a book is finished being written, and is taken to ensure the story is the best it can be.
This research will become very important to my topic once I finish writing my first book, as it will be what I need to follow. I think this article offered me a nice layout of what I will need to do and a little bit of insight into what the publication process looks like.
Moving forward I will use this information when it is needed. I think my goal for the next week is to work more on my book and start looking for a mentor. I'm hoping that within the next two weeks I'll find somebody who I believe would be a good mentor for me and I am also hoping that I will finish my book. Recently I started setting goals for myself to have a certain amount of chapters done every Monday, both the writing and the editing part. By following this layout, I will be able to finish my book and then move into the editing process as described in my article.
